Uploading Pictures to Your Gallery

A very simple process and we try to make it as easy as possible so that members can quickly upload 1 to 250 images seamlessly. To use this part of the site you need to have an updated web browser as we are not providing support for older browsers. You also have to ensure that you have the latest and greatest flash plug-in. If you cannot get these basic requirements or are having difficulty then look over to the right side of the page in the side bar. There you will see the "Upload Page" option to change how you perform the upload. You basically have two options which is the "Flash Upload Page" or the "Standard Upload Page" as shown below:

Now the difference is that with the flash upload, you can select all the images in a directory and upload up to 250 images. With the standard upload you have a limitation of 5 images and you have to select each image individually. Yes it's time consuming. You can see the different layouts of each below:

Flash Upload Layout

Standard Upload Layout

Once you have determined how you are going to upload, the rest is very simple so we will lay it out in steps here:
1. Select your images for upload and make sure that they are within the allowed file types
2. If you are uploading several images, set a general title and description so you don't have to do to many changes
3. Select the appropriate gallery to upload to
4. Choose to receive emails on your images or add to your favorites. This is optional
5. If you have read and understand the upload policy of the site, then click the check box
6. Select the amount of images you want processed at a time. Usually 5 works best
7. Click on submit to start processing the images

Image Processing

Now during the processing session, you will have the chance to change the titles of your images that suit the image. You can also change the description of each, and the keywords. If you do not enter information in these fields then it will be difficult for the search engine to find your images. A good tip and best practice for uploading is to try to match the name of your images and descriptions so that web search engines will find them as well. For example, you have a picture of a landscape you made but the image file name is 00006_715032.PNG. It would be difficult for external search engines to find and catalog the image. Unless some one was specifically looking for an image called 00006_715032.PNG.

Corrupt Images

Corrupt images is also a definite possibility during uploading. We have had a lot of problems with this in the past and it's not something we can recover easily. If your image is corrupt or does not meet the range of requirements, the site will tell you before the process. If no error is shown when processing your images and there are corrupt images, you will see them as a black thumbnail. If this does occur then simply take note of the image and take the check mark off of it from the processing window. This will skip the image and you can then try to upload it again after you have processed all your good images. Corrupt images can sometimes happen because of internet connection or if the site's server is experiencing some difficulty during the time of upload.

If for any reason you are having difficulty with this then please do not hesitate to use the "contact us" form for support, or you can simply reply here describing the difficulty you are experiencing.
